Thank you for posting the review, but they didnt cover the most crucial part of this monitor. The 60hz gaming. Where is the testing? We want you to do testing to see if there are any issues.

I mentioned earlier that this monitor has lost signal and gone black once before. It has now happened 4 or 5 times on 2 different displayport cables fed by my GTX 680. When it does this, the monitor shows black and the menu/power button does not respond. I end up physically power cycling the monitor to fix it. (i.e. unplug, plug back in).

Sorry for mostly ignoring this thread. If you have any specific questions for me about the monitor that I haven't answered already in other pages of this thread, please PM me to let me know. Most of the info I have posted about this monitor is at the end of page 1 and on page 2.

Warranty be damned..im sure if anything happens and i cry hard enough samsung will service me.

Get active displayport to VGA adapter or failing that HDMI to VGA. That would still allow you to use an analog display without any major problems (other than limited resolution support possibly, dunno, have not tried using them above 1080p). Out of these two the DP to VGA should be better idea as HDMI to VGA seemed to have much more limited support for different resolutions, basically just 720p and 1080p for me.

Nah, even if that worked using an FW900 @ anything less than 1200P 100hz would be sacrilegious. The FW900 is used on my GTX Titan rig, the Titan has true analog support for CRTs still. Meh, I can suffer one more day with this ancient lcd

I had these exact same issues on my Eizo FG2421, which I solved by returning for a refund....which is not so easy in this case as the seller is in KOREA mad.gif The FG2421s issues were widespread with many users having the problem, I will let you know if my U28D590 exhibits this behavior. I have all kinds of gold plated DP cables, multiple power cords & A/C adapters to try

Which DP cables will you be using with this monitor? I bought some Accel ones off Amazon that said 1.2 ready, I don't think that really matters since any DP cable should be compatible with 1.2 but I thought why take a risk?
It does come with its own cable, but that is also the cable that made the monitor black out first. Then I tried the cable that came with my HP 2560x1440 monitor and it also has black-out issues.

Well in the case of the Eizo FG2421, the blackout issues were not caused by Displayport or DVI. The blackout issue was caused by finicky power supply issues. Have you tried any other power cables or adapters?

I certainly could try a different power supply. This one uses an external power brick that outputs 14v 4a and I don't think I have anything similar. Is that what you mean?
