How does the Virtual 4k of QNIX compare to true 4k, I guess it does some kind of SSAA+down-sampling??

I'm not entirely sure what that even is. I saw those monitors on eBay saying virtual 4k and what not. If I had to take a guess it would be downsampling similar to what you can do with resolution scale in Battlefield 4.

I downloaded some native 4k content the other day and WOW this screen plays it beautifully. For anyone interested it's the LG promotional material they use when showing off their 4k screens and it can be found online. It's 5 different videos about 2-3 minutes each and about 5.5 GB. I kind of want to get Timescapes 4k lossless now..

Its the best option for 4k gaming at the moment.

Well, the monitor came in. i'll unpack and do setup later today.

OK, so heres my initial experience with this monitor. Slight downgrade in size. I went from 30 to 28. Colors arent as good as my previous dell as well. I swapped out the korean power plug with the recommended U.S. power plug. No screen issues. Monitor came with a driver, i didnt install it. PC just recognized it. First off, i'm coming from 1600P res, so im played dark souls a little bit, and there is an instant difference. No aa needed for DS. Then, i played BF4, initially i couldnt tell the difference between 1600P and 4k. For this game, even 4k, you need aa. I played a few rounds switching between the two and there is a slight difference. 4k is more sharp. I would say 1440P + 4 AA and you're close too 4k. Significantly sharper than 1440p? No. Is there a difference? Yes. Is the difference worth upgrading to this monitor? For me yes, others, maybe not. I bought this on ebay. Shipment was damn fast once they did. Gamers only apply for this monitor.

Thanks for the update keikei. I'm in a similar boat to you where I have a Dell 3011 and was considering this monitor. I am a bit on the fence about it though as I do use my Dell for work and gaming quite a bit, and don't know if the resolution may be too high for non gaming use.

I also have a Crossover 27Q which I actually use in the office and that thing is great, I think it actually looks better than the Dell - the reason I don't use it at home is lack of ports and I prefer 16:10. How's the Samsung's glossiness, and how does Windows scaling handle 4k?

Also, how many 290's are you running - I'm going to assume you're running two. I have one and I think to play BF4 and everything else well I would need to look at purchasing another.

What do you mean by glossines? Scaling is fine. I just set text zoom to 125% in the screen res section. I'm running 2 290's, but i can see what 1 does on 4k for you.

Hmm...bf4 now doesnt seem to play nice tonight after I disable x-fire. I'll try again in the morning. I know you can hit 100fps @1600p with high settings with a single 290. I dont see any problems getting 60 @ 4k, but i will confirm for you soon.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/261432934445?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

Just bought it for $660. I don't even really need it, but with the 10% back in ebay bucks going on right now it seemed too good to pass up at $594 total (after the cashback)

I wonder how it looks next to my shimian 1440p monitor.
