i was hoping for 4K Crossovers, lol.

Samsung are a South Korean company. This monitor was first available from Korean sellers on eBay, that's probably what was being referred to.

I know Samsung is Korean, so is LG too, and they spawned all the IPS panels that's used in the cheap 1440p panels like Crossover and the like.

What i want to see is independent-developed monitors like Yamaski, Crossover, Achievia, etc. do their own designs around the Samsung TN panel. However, there isn't a cheap IPS yet, that's still the Dell UP2414Q, and is still over $1,000.

I hope for a displayport-only 24 inch version with the metal build of the Crossover, and glossy too! you can still notice anti-glare when you have extreme resolution like 4K. It's there but its not too bad.

I'm also a little concerned the stand looks like it is too tall. But according to the tech specs, it is 19 inches tall, and since eye level is usually about 20 inches, that seems okay.

I received notice that they are transferring the Samsung monitor from Ontario to Vancouver, and will issue a tracking number next week, so it can't be shipped quite yet. But hey, I'm used to newegg.ca taking 10 days to deliver, so I'm not worried.

On the other hand, I received an offer from NCIX to buy a second Samsung 4k monitor for $539 (-: The awesome thing is, that is Canadian dollars, worth 10 percent less than USD. Not that anything was cheaper in Canada when it was the other way around 2 years ago. And not that I have the money or space for it, but we'll see after I see the first one in person. Or I can get 10 percent off any monitor to use as a second one, but unfortunately they don't sell an affordable QHD monitor, like the Acer K272 ($349 only affordable QHD monitor from a major brand, only sold in U.S. at that price by newegg.com ( http://goo.gl/6Lz9zl ). I don't think I really want to buy another 1080p monitor, since I think that 4k will become normal and cheap within a year or two, unlike QHD.

I guess they normally offer a discount on a second monitor for 10 percent off if you buy again within a week. Maybe Mike you'll get a coupon also.

Ordered mine from Ncix on Thursday. Did not ship Friday.mad.gif never ordered from them before so I am disappointed. Newegg almost always ships the same day if you order before 3pm est. Worried if the monitor is really available as I have had problems getting this monitor.

I stand corrected. Just received a Email from NCIX. My monitor was shipped last night via UPS ground. I should receive it Tuesday or Wed. depending on what part of New York it was shipped from. thumb.gif

Damn! Just when I thought I was done with spending money on my rig, I found this on Ebay for £445 free postage. mad.gif

Edit* Has anyone in the UK bought one and if so what were the Import duties?

Well - take it this way - a good display will serve you much longer than a good rig component usually does.

Display, Keyboard, Mouse - these are the things you interact with and as such having good quality components there will serve one better, in my opinion, than say, 3rd GFX card.

Imported a Qnix 2710 a few months ago and was charged £70 for the privilege. That was on a purchase price of £200, so I would imagine it would be well over £100 for this one. Better off buying from OCUK - will work out cheaper as they have them at £500.

Ah thanks for that I wasn't sure how import duties applied from Korea since nearly everything comes from there! If I do get one it will probably be the OCUK one. I was also looking at this which is quite nice http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121263783531?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
