The Lenovo ThinkVision Pro2840m actually has the same very light matte screen as all of the other models, it uses the same panel. Lenovo just added a glass panel to it. Some people will like this, others will hate it. It depends on lighting conditions but some people really aren't too hot on matte surfaces covered with reflective glass.

testing out the monitor atm, works good so far, only issues are more of a PC end issue. right now i'm running my PC with no GPU's in, in fact my pc is just on a anti static matic bare on my table atm while i wait for my 760T case to come tomorrow. anyways, the monitor runs perfectly fine on HDMI 4k, but running it through displayport is a little buggy, i'm assuming it's my motherboard having issues pushing out what it needs, it takes long periods of time to boot up, and sometimes the screen will go black for a bit then back to normal, i updated my bios and installed the disc "drivers"

like i said, i'm assuming it's because my video cards aren't attached right now and im just using on board displayport. but i could be completely wrong, any ideas anyone?

in the mean time, my video cards are laying bare with waterblocks on them. so that is why i can't use them atm.

***NEVERMIND. i'm a fool. forgot to update intel on board HD graphics. lol no wonder it was so whacked out. it's funny how driver updates actually matter sometimes. thigns are peachy, and getting 60Hz biggrin.gif

P.S. don't know why all these people say 4k Monitors are limited to 30hz, they aren't. using hdmi limits you to 30, displayport to 60

If you're sat a few feet away, you'll notice it np, just less than 1080p due to having like 1.5x the ppi of 22" 1080 iirc.

If you're sat like 4-5 feet away, waaaaay harder to notice the effects of aliasing

It'll get smaller and harder to see, but if you maintain viewing distance you'll definitely see some effects, especially when moving a camera in 3d scene with some objects

1080p 22" = 100ppi
2160p 22" = 200ppi
1440p 27" = 107ppi
2160p 28" = 157ppi

I'm waiting for big affordable PPI jumps that don't compromise screen quality in other ways - right now, looks like i'm hung up for many more years til we get smaller 1440p or you guys get 120hz and strobing or some other low persistence mode going thumb.gif

In BF4 you can see the aliasing on some objects like those tall cross-hatching light poles. Everything else (buildings/trees) i dont see it. In darks souls, i cant see any jaggies, so i dont use aa. Bosed on the first game, i dont expect to use aa for DS2. i sit about 1 - 2 ft away from the monitor.

That sounded great, until you said glossy.
I spend most of my time reading, not gaming - so, full gloss is a no go. frown.gif

Side to side maybe... Up/Down no.

That being said, I don't regret my purchase
