Samsung 4K 1ms monitor $754 it has begun - Page 10

Ahh but its like automatic mst right? The driver control panel automatically sees it as one native 4k60hz panel right? You dont have to activate MST in the On Screen Display right?

Alot of people dont know it but thats basically the deal with the old 30" 1600p displays...they were two panels automatically recognized as one.

Thanks bp2008. I feel much better. I will keep my order in tack. Hopefully They will ship mine out next week.

Sorry I88bastar. Thanks for the info

The 24" 4K DELL I briefly owned had two separate panels.

Ya that dell MST can be a little moody with drivers frown.gif

It is auto MST. OS sees it as one 4k @ 60hz display. Though you can get into the on screen display and each half of the screen to a different input if you like as part of the picture in picture / picture by picture feature.

I did have to reboot initially before it would let me choose 4k resolution.

Also I forgot to mention this, but if I have aero glass on (windows 7 holdout) then my desktop backgrounds turn black and the 4k monitor doesn't show anything but black. So I have to disable the transparency by using windows 7 basic theme.. Could be a driver issue I suppose with my gtx 680, or maybe it is because I have a 1440p and a 1080p monitor active at the same time, extended desktop style, and that is just too many pixels. Dunno.

In a PM, BP2008 told me:

I would say the anti-glare is neither thick or grainy. I'm not a good one to ask. Definitely not as grainy of whites as most of my other screens.

Based on the "pencil", or in this case "finger" test, this monitor does use pulse-width modulation for backlighting.

Guys I just got a tracking number from top_trading saying shipped today! I will update when I have it according to fedex on Tuesday and will add to the consensus regarding exactly how 4k 60hz will be shown. Will be using a trifire 290x via display port
