Hi guys.
Im thinking about building a new pc in the coming months, and would like to know is there anyway i can get 3 of these monitors to run at 60hz in either sli or eyefinity? I currently have a r9 290 and was thinking about buying three more of them to power these things. But from what i found out it will only run 60hz if i use a display-port cable, my card only has one connector, is it possible to plug each monitor into separate cards. Also would running the main screen at 60hz then the two secondary screens at 30hz be an issue/ruin the experience?

Hey everyone,

I don't post much but I wanted to share my thoughts about this product.
First I want to mention that I purchased it from korean seller bigclothcraft which sells it for $662, ships at worst the next day via DHL Express and also throws in a free universal plug adapter as a gift. Truly a great service.
The seller also personally checks the monitor before shipping it out at no cost.
Sadly these new 4K monitors are still not available in Europe so I had no choice but to order from South Korea.
It arrived today after only 72 hours since the order was confirmed.

It is truly a great product and I applaud Samsung for how they managed to really bring the cost down without sacrificing too much.
What I noticed right off the bat, apart from everything that has already been said in this thread, was how elegant and premium looking it is while being all plastic. It doesn't bother me that the base is not real metal, but it does make me happy that the cost is low!
Likewise I like how there are no OSD buttons, just a single, small joystick. It's a cheaper solution, but easy to use anyway.

Someone pointed out that in his opionion these products are appearing too soon because the refresh rate is too low.
I say they're a bit late actually. Mobile devices have had extremely high density screens for quite a while now, and many of us have always wanted a high resolution monitor for the PC.
Yes, 120Hz would complete the experience, but it's the sharpness and the real estate that really matter when it comes to productivity. We never had that kind of sharpness until now. 120Hz will come.
The way I see it, it's going to be a best seller.

I've been watching all the Canadian retailers that had this monitor listed for weeks now. No success.

I decided to pay the extra Newegg.ca wanted to get it instead of waiting on Wednesday. Put the order in and Visa refused it because of the amount for an online purchase was too high.

Didn't have time to call Visa because I was at work. Called them from home Wednesday night and told them I was going to make a large online purchase and to approve it.

So then I head back to newegg and decided maybe I should check all the others that had it listed. Futureshop.ca had 8 in stock online.

So $599 Cdn with free shipping from Future Shop. Normally I find Future Shop useless but in this case they came through. biggrin.gif

Should be here on Tuesday.

So I finally got this monitor. Have what I think is a bizarre issue...

So I'm at 4k resolution....but on the desktop it doesn't seem like it even though it says it in NVCP and my monitor settings. It seems more like 2560x1440 or something (for reference I have a Dell U3011 so I can easily tell). One time I checked the monitor resolution and it was indeed set at 2560x1440. I changed it to 4k and could immediately tell the difference...for one the text was noticeably smaller.

Now though...it seems to be be back to what I said in my first sentence. Everything is telling me it's at 4K but it doesn't look like it...

Are you running the latest Nvidia beta driver that adds support for single panel 4k monitors?

Why do you think there might be vesa mounts inside? What is the likelyhood (20% chance?) so we can know to go through the trouble to open up their monitor. I had never opened up a monitor before unless there is a really good reason.

Thanks,

It's highly unlikely. Samsung cut as many corners as possible to keep costs low.

Here you go,..http://www.whatismyscreenresolution.com/ ..also, make sure your Windows display settings are set to "smaller" for your full resolution.. like so,..
