I have an offer for a GTX680 KFA2 for £140 right now
And a patriot GTX680 for £160.

So yeah £120-130 is attainable. I don't mind paying a little more and just getting it now.

I wouldn't want to sell my 680 any lower than £200 really. But looking at the current state, I don't think that would realistically be probable

but you can literally bios flash a 680 to 770 and call it 770, many of them take, get gpu boost 2.0 etc - the pcb's, coolers are even the same, aside from the RAM which won't clock far past 7g's if it'll get there to bios flash in the first place. They're pretty close, so i wouldn't expect the used value to be significantly different (maybe 10% for name value) - you can sli 680 with 770, right? Maybe not.

Might throw my 770 in with my i7 950 then. Would have to throw £60 at a good psu, buy a case, got a 120gb ssd (m4) for like £52 a little while ago and then sell it all as one. Right now i have just a 950, x58a-ud3r and 120gb m4 in a box with a lower tier air cooler (think like hyper 212) and 3x2gb of basic 1600 ddr3, what do you think that would go for as a complete system? (sorry to ninja your thread lol)

Don't think you can SLI a 770 and 680, not sure though.
No idea for your system either - best asking the appraisals section. You're in the USA as well aren't you? Not the UK? US prices are much lower - just checked ebay.com and 680s are going fro $200-230.
I would buy from the USA and have my mum bring it to me, but don't want to wait 3 months before getting it.

Going to jump on that KFA2 for £140, unless a magical 680 turns up on Monday (100% sure it won't but I'll give the benefit of the doubt)

FYI: The guy selling the KFA2 680 told me his only selling it as he bought a whole system with it and upgraded his GPU so he no longer needs the 680.

PS. MSI 680 going for £130 right now:

Won't go on that one as the seller never got back to me. I'm just curious how much it will go for.

Nah i'm in UK, from england live scotland atm

Finally no more third world internet in ~10 days if all goes to plan biggrin.gif I love how you either have terrible internet (5.5/0.6) or fiber (100/10) available ~.o

Those GPU prices are so cheap. Couple quarters ago they were dealing new for like £240 and that's the lowest i've seen them sold - given that they're still current gen, it's quite a drop

That card went for £150 used

Indeed £150 it went for.
So £140 isn't bad for the KFA2 - considering it has a much higher clock that the MSI.
Crappy cooler I agree, but meh - it will be my SLI'ed card, not the main one.

PS. here's a full system to give you an idea of prices:

Doesn't really matter AFAIK, because all of the cards have similar or identical binning and can be set to ~1.212v (770 stock is 1.2v..) so they all essentially clock the same, aside from silicon variance - you just might have to raise the lower clocked ones by a little more. Even if cooling is varied.. I ran open case with 80% fan (windforce) at 1.212v yesterday, kinda cool room, and at 1293mhz i was literally peaking 60c - so i think you can hold two cards under 80, they're not nearly as hard as 780's etc to do so

Ty

Oh you do have to hold them under 80 though, gpu boost is a little crazy unless you bios flash. It'll throttle you from 1300 or whatever all the way down to base clock if you hit the 80's. I'm not sure how cooling performance is with 2x blowers vs 2x open air, or how scaling is on both with a little or a lot of airflow

I recently got a pair of MSI GTX 680 2gb reference cards at $200 a piece and I'm running a 2560x1440 Qnix at 96hz.

The only problems I've ran into so far with the 2gb of vram was with the Unigine Valley benchmark and CoH2 benchmark with all of the settings maxed while I still had a bunch of stuff running in the background.
I have hardly played any games, nothing really intensive, since I built this 4670k rig so perhaps I'm not the best to comment on performance but everything I've played so far has ran stellar.

And to be honest I am still very happy with the 680 in SLI but I had just came from a very cheap, very good performing GTX 670 SLI setup, $100 for the first card and $180 for the 2nd.

For the money spent I'm still sure I'm going to go back to the GTX 670 in SLI and my brother will sell one 680 and keep the other for his computer.
To clear it up he was the one that bought the 680s with plans to resell one and we were thinking of doing a trade involving my 670s and the 680s.
I've been running the 680s with my HX850 80+ gold and he's had the 670s with his XFX pro core 650w and it's not enough of a difference between the two for it to be worth it for me. tongue.gif

Is there anything specific you would like to know?
Perhaps I can run a couple of benchmarks for you at 1080 and 1440 to give you an idea how they would run for you now and in the future when you order yourself a 2560x1440 panel? biggrin.gif

My cards run at 1202 on the core and 6412 on the memory with a 4.4ghz 4670k.

Great post thanks!
Yeah I would appreciate if you could see how it performs in BF4?
All other games have been less intensive for me on my single 680. Thus I think BF4 is the most stressful I've put my 680s under. No need to run it at 1080P I would only be interested in 1440p results.

As for those prices you got them at - well jelly frown.gif!
You guys in the US have lower prices but excellent chances of getting awesome deals too! $100 for a 670 - MADNESS!

Maybe if you're willing to sell me that second 680 then - for a good price tongue.gif?

Hmm, I don't actually have BF4.

Myself I prefer multiplayer FPS games such as CS:GO where it's not such a cluster**** of airstrikes and tanks. tongue.gif

I do happen to have BF3 on origin as I snagged one of the codes for it that was going around the internet near BF4 launch.

ah I see, well bf3 is useful, but not nearly as stressful for the gpu or CPU as bf4

In terms of SLI - I won't need to use these ports would I?
http://www.kfa2.com/GTX680LTDOC.shtml

The GPU I want to SLI has: 3X Mini-HDMI and 1x DisplayPort
Only. No DVI.

But If I'm using the Primary card (my MSI) via DVI - that should be fine right?
In other words the primary connection and ONLY connection to the monitor is the MSI via DVI
