Why a 7950? When Consoles came out 8800 GTS was out. Right now a HD 7970 will always get better fps and graphics then consoles.

lol no. 2005 was the year of bf2 and 7600gt, 7900gs, ati x1950 being the most common cards. You are quite a bit off on your time frame there.

Shows again how superior and efficient console hardware is

Felon, nobody but you is talking about the 360. The 360 was a completely different story. If the XB1 compared half as well to modern tech as the 360 did to the tech of its time, I wouldn't have a complaint. The XB1 compares to modern tech the way the Wii compared to the tech of its time. You're trying to compare apples to dropletons by continuing to bring up irrelevant examples.

It compares maybe 5-10% better than the XB1, but it still isn't comparable to the 360 tech/time wise.

It's a sad state of affairs when gaming success devolves to a resolution and frame rate.

sure it isn't comparable, but it's gpu is more than 5-10% more powerful than the xb1. consoles may not have the advantage they once did due to greater efficiency on pcs BUT you can't deny that long term the ps4 will still be a far better value proposition than a $400 pc. i think that is the argument that most of us are actually trying to make

Not really. I'm still gaming with pre-2005 parts (my platter drive, some fans, etc.) in my rig right now. If you upgrade and spend wisely (in the US, always buy your parts on Dec. 30th or 31st), you could easily exceed a console in value and power over time (with the PS3/360 generation being a notable exception). It just takes time, dedication, and savvy.

you're argument has already been deconstructed like 5x. plus you seem to assume that todays consoles are going to get zero optimization. how about, for simplicity's sake, you build a pc for $400 (or $300 or whatever, save money for the upgrades that will blow the ps4 out the water in the future lol) and then get back to me in 7 years. and tell me that your system beats the ps4 in performance then. considering the ps4 is basically sold at cost, somehow i doubt you will do this, lol

Thank you for projecting on me, I guess. I already addressed optimization claims, and few people here have tried to deconstruct my argument, instead providing counter arguments.
If I could archive newegg back far enough, I'd humor you. Starting with the earliest console/data match, I'd build a rig at that cost, and upgrade it with every successive release.
Do you have those kinds of newegg archives for me?
