GTX 760 or R9 270X?

Hey everyone, I'm planning on getting a new GPU for my rig. Now, I have choices between the GTX 760 (MSI Gaming) and the R9 270X (Sapphire Toxic). Which one should I get out of those two? My PC is an FX-8320 on an ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2.0 board.

The Sapphire Toxic looks pretty sick!

I heard the MSI Gaming cooler fans leak oil, not sure if it's all cards, just I read it a few times around here.

I'd still pick the 270x Toxic though.

I personally think its the best way to go, since its cheaper than the 760 and has more OC headroom. But, I wanted other opinions.

That 760 has the NCP4206 voltage controller and can be unlocked using the afterburner voltage soft-mod. My Gaming 770's can get up to 1476Mhz, so with that said, both the 760, and 270x would OC properly. I personally would pick the 760, but it still depends on the price difference and what type of games you enjoy playing.

If they are more Nvidia features related (PhysX, 3dvision), then the 760, but if they are not the 270x would work just fine thumb.gif

A 760gtx would be better by 6-10fps in sone games in others would be a tie.

So 760gtx

I would say Nvidia GTX 760 if you ever plan to add a 2nd card.

if you need more FPS or you add more monitors SLI works sweet, especially with GTX 760s

CrossfireX on the other hand seems less transparent and buggy.... I should know, as I have 2 R9 290x crossfire and GTX 760 SLI to compare.

I had 270x for a sort period of time but I returned it.

Nothing wrong with it, nice card too. Personally I'd not pick it other than for mining purposes.

MSI GTX 760 twin frozr is a really nice card.
