1x Sapphire 290X 8GB Vapor-X + 3x 290x Reference. Will I get 8GB for my Crossfire?

Sapphire is coming out with a 8GB "Vapor-X" model GPU. I have 3x2560x1440 and 3x290X reference. As you ATI boys probably know VRAM doesn't stack so I only have 4GB... If I were to buy the 4th 290X and make it a 290X VaporX would that work? I would assume I would then get 4x Crossfire with 8GB of VRAM... The next logical question is will it have a water block ever. wink.gif

Unless something has changed, i will work as a 4th card in crossfire, but you will only utilize 4GB of its 8GB of VRAM. You only have as much VRAM as the card with the lowest amount.

i am beginning to think that there is a connection between this card and the vram leak in BF4.headscratch.gif

ya if you want 8gb on all 3x you need to buy 3x sapphire 8gb vapor x and sell your 3x old reference models.

Imo it's not worth it. Wait for end of 2014 new videocards will be out and then upgrade biggrin.gif
by then there should be at least 6gb vram available on high end

Yeah, Just read how Crossfire works again... It mirrors the memory across n-cards... so that makes sense... My last setup was 2xGTX690(hides from ATI forum thumb.gif)
