Samsung np365e5c Bios is password locked

Thread Starter
I can't get into it. It gives me three tries and then gives me the 18 digit error code. I've tried every pass I can think of.

I called Samsung and the service tech was absolutely no help. "Sorry sir, but unless you know the password, the only thing we can do is have it sent in to us for flashing." Me: "Isn't there a way I can flash it?" "I honestly don't know sir..."

I can't even get it to boot from a CD without asking me for the pass.

Sending it into Samsung is not an option because I have a project to do on this laptop this week and I need to get into my bios before I do anything.

An authorized Samsung service center should be able to put in a new password.

You can try Googling for bios password crackers, but the laptop manufacturers are pretty close to the chest with the ones that really work.

The closest service center is 600 miles away. Wow.

I've tried some password crackers. None of them seem to work.

The store where you purchased it or service center may help. When you press F2 while booting, can you get in to the BIOS?

Yes, that's when I get the password prompt. After 3 unsuccessful entries it gives me the 18 digit lock key.

You could try calling the service center directly to help expedite the reset, since they're going to use the code as well. If it's registered to you, that will help considerably.

Wouldn't pulling out the laptop battery and CMOS battery, then leaving them out for a while work? I don't think it would be able to retain the password that way, unless it uses non-volatile memory to store the BIOS password.

This was my guess too. I'm not sure where the CMOS battery is though.
