Mine is NP365E5C-S02UB which is not listed on their site. Closest is the S02US which seems to have no downloads...

I don't see one for that model either. No downloads available.

This whole thing has been a nightmare. I'll never buy another Samsung laptop. What kind of company doesn't allow you to reformat a HD or even switch HD's? What if I wanted to use an SSD? I would be screwed.

man samsung makes their stuff complicated none of that stuff makes sense
what you may have to do is use whatever os and try to install it from a cd
to your hd on the laptop. cause I can figure any of that stuff out on their site.

I would go into bios tell it to boot from cd boot it with a windows cd and install
it that way seems to be the only thing i can figure out cause then itll make the
hd bootable since its the only hd in the laptop.

The problem is, I have Windows 7 freshly installed on the HD from earlier today. Since I was forced to format the HD and wipe all the samsung partitions in the process, I think now the Samsung BIOS refuses to boot from it at all.

nah it will see it problem is when you installed it earlier today it probably didnt make it bootable since it was in another system with an already bootable drive.

I'm putting 8 on it right now.

I also changed it back from MBR to GPT which is what it was from the factory.

Samsung loves GPT apparently because it hates Windows 7. Oh Samsung...

Well this just took a turn for the worse.

Installed WIndows 8. Computer restarts. Samsung logo... then black screen hang.

I go back in the bios. All of the sudden my hard drive has disappeared and furthermore if I try to boot from the cd drive I get a hanging Samsung logo...

So now I can't get my HD to show up at all, and I can't boot from a cd.
