i have a i7 920 and im just wondering would a it handle video editing and gaming and the software i use pinncale studios 16 or sony vegas 12 and im just wondering can them vudeo editing software handle 4core and 8 threads ?thumb.gif

It's perfectly fine for all those situations. Vegas 12 is coded properly for taking advantage of it and it won't bog you down in most games unless you're running a very high-end card at stock CPU clocks. A small overclock to say 4.0Ghz might be something to keep in mind. Hope that helps.

Nothing wrong with a i7-920. It's only about 25% slower than the latest and greatest 4770K. That's not bad considering the age of the processor.

If you're happy with the performance, then keep on using it. If you want to spend money for an upgrade, then do it. It's really all up to you, we can't decide what your price vs. performance threshold is.

well i manily use pinnacle studios 16 and i have a hd 7870 and i may oc

i7 920 is not slow. If anything the stock clock is a little low but still plenty fast.

Bump it up to 3.6ghz or higher and it will so anything you ask it to do.

ok i have a d0 step of i7 920 and is it easy to get 3.6ghz on stock v?

Which x58mobo do you have? Because the lga1366 can support a x5660 which is much better(2core and 4 threads more) and can oc up to 5ghz
