Confused On AMD cpu's

Hi guys, i recently decided to build a AMD based PC.

I am confused on their many CPU's out there.

1) whats the newest cpu by AMD atm? and 2nd newed, and 3rd newest?

2) whats the difference between their A series (A10, A6 etc ), Athlon series, and their FX series?

3)which ones (from part 2) is reccomonedned first what cases?

i know that the A series have a IGPU in them, so the only time i can think of getting a APU is when you dont need a dedicated GPU, and to save money.

other than that, what are their differences and uses?

Well,

As you already made you mind on AMD (you won't go INTEL) and you don't seem to go towards the APU/iGPUs...

Consider an FX (highest perf lineup) FX-8320 for the best price perf ratio.....grab a good mother board and fast ram....call it a day.

I already built an intel PC. (my first build)

the PC im trying to build is for a budget build for someone else.

however, while i am here, i just wanted to know more about AMD cpu since i have not worked with them ever.

1) Newest CPUs are the A10 Kaveri APU's then the previous one before that where Richland APUs.
The performance processors (FX Piledriver) from AMD where released on the socket AM3+ in 2012 and have not had a new release since

2+3)
A series have integrated graphics, intended for all round home computing.

Athlons (the new ones such as 750K) use the FM2 socket however, they do not have a IGP. This route offers a affordable quad core without paying extra for a IGP. Good for budget computers (and IMO budget gaming PCs)

FX Series are the performance line. They have no IGP and are the best performing CPU from AMD. For demanding tasks, such as games, this processor family is best.

I recommed the A8-7600 it is a great choice it has all the things you'd want great efficiency, good price tag, decent budget graphics and HSA potential.
The main question is what will be your main use for this pc?

Would you like some suggested builds based on your projected budget and usage? I like to do that.

I have a follow up to OP
Is the phenom series the same as the athlon? Or is it a different series? Like how apu's are different to the fx
