I am running single 7870 GPU and yea I would be happy if 6-core HW-E runs anything frm 3.2Ghz+

AAAh... Am getting super impatient if I build now or wait... (Problem is we don't have yet the complete specs of 6core CPU)

I don't care for red/black, prefer blue/black, but the one positive is that if one red part is head and shoulders above the rest I can just forget aesthetics completely and do solid side panels. That said I'm in for Rampage V BE if they do one.

All the pricing speculation reminds me

Is this the 5820k 5930K 5960X motherboard? Will they have same SLI possibilites as the X79 motherboards with 3-way and 4-way SLI without a PLX card? Like native 4-way SLI support?

Like you, I wish motherboard manufacturers offered each board in 4color variants:

Blue/Black
Red/Black
White/Black
All Black

But that will never happen, all we can do is purchased the best mass-produced boards available and modify them to suit our own needs from there.

It's pretty easy to "play down" the red aspects of an ROG board if you really want to do a Black/White theme, Black/Blue that's much more difficult with current offerings.

Forgetting aesthetics altogether with solid panels is always an option, but why deny yourself the sheer beauty of highly functioning electronics in action, aesthetics compose at least 33% of the pleasure within this glorious hobby. smile.gif

Haven't we been saying that since Sandy Bridge?

We've been saying essentially the same thing since people were arguing on whether the Q6600 was worth it over any of the dual core variants.

Why people keep saying this is beyond me. I have yet to see a Sandy benchmark as high as my Ivy. FTLOG stop please.

(no disrespect to AMD owners)
Agreed. Crysis and BF4 don't even make my PC break a sweat. Ya I could do better but it's pointless. For the bold part ... If I'm not mistaken console games and their PC counter parts are developed independently of each other.

If I have to wait 6-8 months after X99 launches for DDR4 to even be affordable I'll probably just wait another couple months for Skywell-E.
I'm waiting for Skylake. But I'll be waiting longer because I want to see testing first. thumb.gif

Same here. biggrin.gif But I haven't heard much about it to see if it

As for who's buying this. I need it for multimedia work. But if a person wants this for gaming, they will not see any benefit into well in the future.
Am I missing something? Isn't it less expensive to buy a work station? Are you a professional? This is marketed as an "enthusiast" chip, correct? Granted it can also be used for gaming or for multi media but I'm trying to find the justification. I personally would love to have this as I love to test, benchmark, and generally push systems to their limit. But the cost factor kills it for me.

Looking for a bit o' advice if anyone can provide it. I've yet to jump into water cooling, but is it something i should look invest in with when looking into these server grade processors?

Or should the cream of the crop air cooler(whatever it maybe, feel free to answer) be fine to cover the heat these processors are pushing out? I have no plans to overclock past stock voltage as I plan to run 24/7, 70-80% utilization, and last as many years as possible.

I got a silverstone FT02, well suited for either approach.
