3 r9 290 +7degrees difference between them - Page 2

That is a little bit weird that the middle card is cooler than the other two. It could be that card is under slightly lower load too - you would need to graph the load on all three and compare to know for sure. You might consider putting the "cool" card up top and see if it remains as cool.

Are you really running 3x 290's with a stock heat sink fan on your CPU? =) Is this a mining machine or a gaming machine?

yes it is sandwiched, but why is the middle one the lowest temperature then?

sorry i am waiting for the new switftech pump i can wait like 3 weeks biggrin.gif
regarding load
GPU0 is 50% load
GPU1 is 100% load
GPU2 is 100% load

obviosuly GPU0 is gonna be hottest because heat rises, but why is the middle one so much lower than 3rd card?

PROBLEM SOLVED. FIX IS FOUND HERE
http://www.overclock.net/t/1473152/msi-afterburner-beta-18-power-limit-does-not-apply-to-r9-290

also another thing i want to ask you guys.

I am using 13.12 atm and have overdrive turned off in catalyst and when i use afterburner beta 18 version to overclock the power control +50% does not work.
I don't want to use 14.2beta yet it seems real buggy. waiting for WHQL driver end of month.

I did check out the option settings and it seems to be set right, but please do tell if you know how to fix this. i can double check.

i can tell that 50% extra power does not work, because as soon as i go into any 3d application that creates 100% load it throttles down. At 1100 overclock it throttles to about 1050 and 850 for example. Card seems to not get enough power.
If i don't use afterburner and just overclock from AMD CCC driver menu and try the same clocks it works at a steady 1100mhz no downclocking, but i need afterburner for +100mv over voltage. With CCC i cant overvolt or undervolt
How do i fix this?

ya it is below stock until watercooler gets here.
I am running on -50mv core voltage 865core 1250memory power limit 0% all 3 cards stable for over 20 days now. Swiftech pump needs to hurry up and come out already.
