Yeah, I was going to go Tri-X Sapphires, but someone was selling a few Windforce Gigabytes for $400 on the marketplace here that are less than 2 months old, so I jumped on the offer. About an $80 difference over a new Tri-X Sapphire from an e-tailer, so I'm relatively pleased with my purchase. smile.gif I'll be happier once I get it in my rig and test it!

Hopefully you're using then for folding or gaming and not mining. Don't get me started on mining's status. It's the reason why I threw in the towel and fold now.

Oh it's definitely for gaming. smile.gif Mining difficulties are why so many cards are flooding the market now with low time of ownership. I thought about mining, but I wouldn't feel comfortable mining with my rig not completely under water.

You won't have an issue with a 290 on air. Just... Making $80 a month before taxes on four cards in our house is unacceptable.

Yeah, that sucks. I'm just going to use it for gaming, though. thumb.gif So it's kosher!

So I've been having a blast tweaking my system, I've been working on raising the uncore and tightening my ram timings. My ram will actually do 1T at 2400mhz on this board. On my Crosshair V I couldn't post with the ram at 1T at 2400mhz.

Before:

After:

L3 cache bandwidth is a good deal higher, and system memory is lower latency.

Not sure how much more I can push it. Still need to test that it's fully stable (it seems stable so far while gaming but I need to do x264).

That's funny and a total myth. The strongest magnets are found in hard drives. A weak magnet like that no problem thumb.gif
