alternative to Kingston 2gb 1333 at 1866

Thread Starter
Greetings. I've been building a htpc using a 5400k and an msi a55m-e33 motherboard. I've ran out of cash by the time i got the apu, mobo and hdd so i bought a stick of secondhand ddr3 Kingston http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139640 for about 15 bucks. After a few benchmarks i decided to see how far i can push this little stick of ram. It went to 1866 at cl11 :O

First of all as you can see from the first link its a SS module, second its running at 2T command rate and lastly its operating in single channel as its the only dimm of memory in the pc at the time.

Now a couple of questions:

Is everything ok? I have little experience with ram overclocking as i never had to do it before - not counting ddr1 era
I didn't overclock the platform just changed the divider and SOME of the timings and the rest i left on auto.
It passes memtest86 but it always shows a different freq than the real one, but as i understand it thats not a problem as 3d performance did rise considerably.

Now if everything is ok what the hell should i buy next? I can't buy native 1866 ram as it only comes in 8gb kits and ebay.de is overpriced.
I can't seem to find this model of kingston and even if i did, i can only hope it gets to 1600. Should i try some new 1600 native SS module?
What should i go for SS/DS 1600/1333 and hope i get to 1866? Looking forward to any ideas...

Not really knowledgeable on ram overclocking, but I will say that all the low end ddr Kingstom ram I've used in multiple PC's had to get sent back for RMA, sometimes 2 or 3 times. Personally I'd never buy another stick of their ram.

i know they have crappy ram. I've had old pcs running kingston and they would always fail. But for 15 bucks i gave it a go...and i got lucky as it turns out.
