GTX 560Ti

Thread Starter
Ok Now I'm totally confused. I Have reading for about 2 hrs and still haven't a decisive answer to a question I have.

I have GTX 560Ti 1024 MG GDDR5 Part Number 01G P3 1561 KR

I want to run SLI and I'm looking to purchase a second card. Now I have read that they have to be the same as in another GTX 560Ti with 1024MB of ram.

Now the question : Do they have to be the same part number such as GTX 560Ti 1024 MG GDDR5 Part Number 01G P3 1563 AR
or a GTX 560Ti 1024 MG GDDR5 Part Number 01G P3 1567 KR. Would either of these work with my existing GTX 560Ti 1024 MG GDDR5 Part Number 01G P3 1561 KR

Going Bald reading all the info. Thanks for any help

Any 560Ti will work with another. It's best to get matching VRAM as there is something tricky you have to do if you want it to get it to work with a card with a different amount. The cards will run off the clock speed of the lowest one.

There are three different types of 560ti, make sure you get the version with 1024MB of ram and not 1280 or 2048mb.

The 1280mb version flat out won't work and the 2048 version requires an old driver hack to work.

They come up on ebay all the time. I've been looking for one myself.

He could get a different VRAM card, but it is a bit tricky. I would say get the same if you can though. I'm just stating you do not have to get the same VRAM card.

The 1280mb version has a different number of cores - it's a different chip.

Sooo the Part number being different doesn't matter as long as the ram is the same

It seems that there is more than I thought. You would need to verify the core count.

The difference between an AR and a KR 560ti is that AR means the card has a lifetime warranty and cost $50 more, while the KR had a limited warranty and cost less.
