Depends where the OP is from if he is from the EU he could get a Super Flower Golden Green HX 450 watts

Hell think even a 350 watts could power that system

GTX 750 ti use 75 watts as max and thats a full load which its never going to be

Yes you can. You can either get a windows 8.1 OEM or windows 7 OEM- most copies are about $100.

That's just to get it going now for the cheap. I just had him get a higher supply for future upgrades. 750ti is a decent card. Low power consumption and decent output. If a year from now he wants to get say a AMD 290 he wouldn't be able to with a 350w supply but with a 600w he would. That's why I said to go with that supply. it's far from the best out there but it takes away some limitations.

He would be better off with going with something decent for what he needs and not something mediocre for upgrade he might or not do

XFX Core Edition 450 watts or 550 watts are still very cheap and they are rebranded Seasonic S12IIB units

Throw in some suggestions. I'm not corsair strong or 750ti strong. I was trying to keep the cost low with performance high as I could. Im sure others could post their thoughts on better configurations. Really he doesn't even have to go with intel at all. The reason I picked intel was for future upgrades. You could go with AMD and get an even better graphics card or even go with one of their APU configurations.

As said i dont know where the OP is from so i have some units in mind but some can be found in some places and others in other places

Can be a bit annoying sometimes

If the OP is from the US then XFX Core Edition Rosewill Hive are decent cheap options

Rosewill Capstone is a little bit more but even today the Capstone is verty hard to beat in bang for buck

Really all I was thinking is this dude gets $500 for his birthday so next year about thi time he can slam in a nice card that is current and sell the 750ti. Have a beast machine for a relatively low cost.

solid plan of attack right here.

the intel cpu should be fine through 2-3 GPU revisions.
