in this video, he keeps mentioning a AMD A5 cpu.
(like at the 5:55 min mark and the 7:50 min mark)
Is there even such thing as a A5? i thought there was only A4, A6, A8, and A10.

Might just be a verbal slip-up. I remember one video where an AMD guy kept saying "A10-3850k" when talking about Kaveri, lol. It happens sometimes, I suppose. Either way, I've never seen any A5 parts mentioned anywhere before.

also, he said that the consoles are basicallying using an APU.

how did he get to that conclusion?

arent the consoles running a 8 core CPU? and arent the best APU's only quad core?

Well the consoles are indeed using semi-custom APU's designed by AMD in them. The X1 APU has a Bonaire-derived GPU on it, two Jaguar modules (for a total of eight cores), 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and 32mb of esRAM, along with the various I/O and other die logic. The PS4 has a Pitcairn-derived GPU, two Jaguar modules, 8GB of GDDR5 RAM, and the various I/O and such in comparison. They are basically super-powered SoC APU's.

On the desktop, there are APU's using both the small cores (Jaguar, Puma+ in the future) and big cores (K10 for Llano, K15 Bulldozer family for Trinity, Richland, Kaveri, Kaveri refresh, and Carrizo.)
