[Razer] New Razer Blade with GTX 870M and 3200x1800 IGZO IPS Display Announced - Page 10

I remember when my 16.0" 1920x1080 Dell Studio XPS seemed high PPI. I gotta call overkill on this. MAJOR overkill.

The hardware on this machine is fantastic... way better than the original Razor laptop.

The fact that it has no ethernet port completely turns me away from it. They could of engineered some kind of folding ethernet port similar to whats on the Lenovo z510.

@ 14" 1080p is more then enough. You can do gaming and everything else at that resolution. Maybe if they give the option its would be nice. 4K or go home. No need for these non standard resolutions really.

if the screen works like the macbook retina does, then yeah downsizing the res should be fine and not look weird. if i run games on my macbook retina, i run them @ 1920x1200 and they look perfectly fine.

still, when i upgrade my notebook im going the 880m smile.gif

what a joke. that will pull like 10-15fps in games at that resolution. I feel sorry for whomever buys this thinking they're getting a gaming machine.
The idea is that you'll be able to play the intensive games at 1600x900 (or maybe another resolution in-between that and native) which should look more or less the same as on a normal 1600x900 panel, and for light (and maybe even some moderate) games you'll be able to run at native resolution.

The real treat will be when laptops come out with these resolutions but with SLI 880M's and so forth thumb.gif ... But you're not getting that in a thin gaming laptop haha.

They demoed it running Metro LL and BF4 at playable frames in the medium range too. I don't get why people think you need to run it at max for things to be effective.

Really? Heh, but was it at native or less than? If native that's pretty good. You get to choose between an amazing PPI and lower graphics settings and max graphics and a normal PPI.
