Hey everyone, I am getting ready to swap out my old CPU+Mobo out and put in my new set up (FX-8320 + M5A99FX PRO R2.0). I will also wipe my SSD HDD clean. I haven't swap out my CPU+Mobo for a long time, so I need a refresher.
Question is, do I just go online to the product page and download each latest update available for the motherboard to get maximize performance out of it? Or is there only certain things I need to download?
Some updated stuff (BIOS, drivers, software) improves stability, some adds features, and some add speed.
I'd get the latest BIOS though. You can flash it without booting or even having an OS installed.
Or you can just load everything off of the Motherboard CD and update it all later.
I'd stay away from AiSuite though. Useless and problematic, though cute!

It overclocks well, lots of overclocking stuff in the BIOS, but I'd advise against using any of the "automatic" overclocking functions. If it fails, you don't know what it did so you don't know what to undo. You have to re-flash the BIOS to get all the settings back to their defaults and then reset everything to the way you had it before you "automatic-ized" it.
I do have another question tho, with the BIOS update, can I just download the latest one and update it? Or do I have to do it one by one for each updates and drivers?
Sounds good! I just downloaded all the latest update including the BIOS.
So what I did was, I put the latest BIOS into the root of the flash drive, and made a new folder called "xDrivers" and put all the drivers stuff in there.
Do I have to rename the BIOS? Or can I use leave it and plug the flash drive and update using the UEFI or BIOS Flashback?
