How to get pc and xbox one sound playing on external pc speakers on one pc monitor?

Hi guys, This has stumped me for quite some time and I can not for the life of me figure it out. I have the Logitech z313 2.1 speakers, right now they are plugged into the back of my pc and they work great and everything. My 27 inch BenQ GW270 monitor is connected to my pc via DVI and xbox one via HDMI. BUT. I would like to get sound from the z313s from my xbox one and pc. I unplugged the 3.5mm jack from my pc and put it in the back of the monitor and that gave sound from the xbox one on the z313s but it did not on the pc, obvs cause dvi doesnt transfer sound, so little confused if some sort of splitter would work? Thanks in advance. smile.gif

A splitter is fine as long as only 1 device is on, otherwise you will need a switch. Although both devices need to be hooked up to the same outlet/surge protector to avoid ground loops.
