[AH] Sprint Chairman Says US Internet Speeds are “Horrible” And He’s Fixing It - Page 10

Lol, you guys complain.
I get like 20 down, 3 up for $90/month from telus, on a good day. Stupid internet/phone monopoly in Canada, well at least western Canada. I would love to pay $70 a month for faster download speeds.

It should be 130 m/bit download / 50 m/bit upload too but they screwed up my config and I haven't had time to call them and change it.

Also the merging of Telcos actually helped lower prices here in NZ. Don't blame the merging of telcos, blame government policy. But no politics people, but that's the real cause, not merging of telcos.

The fastest you can get on a residential plan is 200 m/bit here. Not to mention NZ actually has proper 4G

e.g.

And that around typical speed for a LTE 4G enabled phone (90 -> 100 m/bit). And we can switch providers whenever we want unlike the locking in the US.

He's definitely isn't posting the complete picture of NZ.

UFB roll out is not that extensive yet. For example I live on one of the mainest streets in Auckland (our biggest city by far) and I can still only get ADSL

Hell your own speed results speak bounds, 92% faster than all of NZ, 97% faster than all of NZ etc. We are also ranked 42nd in the world.

And that costs me $100 a month, uncapped though which is good, but this has only started happening recently (uncapped I mean).

One of the guys on here said he lived in the country had speed literally three or four times mine, and paid 24 bucks lol.

the UFB rollout however is deliberately scaled to put Auckland last however.

You seem to be in the know. EIther way at present the majority of us would LOVE to have half of what people in the US have haha.

Why on earth though is Auckland being held back? I would have thought it was the most important place to start by leaps and bounds.
