lower power appeals to everyone except for those who with more money then sense. miners need lower power to make a profit, everyone else is stung by rising electricity costs. lower power is good especially when current games demand for 1080p @ ultra can easily be met with a low tier mid end card and its not like we are making massinve pushes beyond 1080p anyway.

1440p adopters are still a minority and still mid end cards can meet the performance requirements at a slight quality reduction. 4k is the only real push for higher performance but its rather cost prohibitive.

what i do want to see with maxwell is hopefully a dual GPU solution that is equivalent or better to dual titans at the power consumption of a single titan or around ~250w. just stuff more lower power chips onboard. single quad SLI card sounds interesting afterall its not like it cant be done afterall they have a quad keplar GPU called the K1 grid @ 130w

In case you didn't notice, the whole industry is going towards power consumption.

I don't think a graphics card company like Nvidia or AMD thinks like that.

I can't wait for this, the only thing that always stopped me from going mini itx was because the cases I wanted all needed an SFX PSU. I felt the 450W SFX PSUs available didn't have enough headroom for a 780ti and a 3770k or higher when OCd . Now, once this comes out, i'll be a happy camper! thumb.gif

Miners are interested in efficiency. That is extremely different from low power.

Nope, it's going towards greater performance at a given power point, and always has been. That is not the same thing as going low power, nor is it the same thing as low power emphasis only.

Very nice for Silverstone to include PP05-E as the stock cable. The stock cable of the 450w variant is bad enough even the non-modular 300/450w is better for cable management inside an SG05.

Also hoping for the stock PP05-E cables to be shorter.

Isn't the PP05-E the set of short cables that fit all their modular PSUs?

It does make sense that the SFX PSUs should get a shorter set but I doubt they'd make one; since the market for it is limited to enthusiasts.

Most SFX PSUs are made specifically for ITX cases that requires an SFX PSU anyways, might as well make the cables shorter than the usual. I doubt someone will install these SFX PSUs inside a mid tower case.

In my experience, the pp05 cables are still long inside an SG05 to the point it is still somewhat hard, or even harder to manage the cables. I guess thats just me.

- Semi-fanless - this feature is taken from the current ST30SF model so that means the fan in the SX600-G will spin when its internal temperature reaches a certain point.

- PP05-E standard - this much more flexible and flat cable set will come standard with the SX600-G.

Unfortunately there are still some engineering issues to work out at this moment so I am unable to provide any more detailed information or time frame on its release. Sorry!
