Slowly, SilverStone expands its range of power SFX, with the arrival of a 600W model. Nothing much ... Based on ST45SF-G V2, it will use the flat modular cables to enable a simpler layout and practice. Cebit 2014 Silverstone crosses new milestone 600w 80plus gold sfx. If the rate is not set, you can easily rely on the 450W model to get an idea. The latter being sold from € 100 , the sum of € 140 is not impossible, far from it. Remains to be seen if the fan that does not turn a function of load, will show silent. Finally, and because it is not all, the brand is also working on future models with SFX slim 100mm fan.
On my mobile I'll translate this in a few. Behold the fabled Silverstone 600 watt Gold modular PSU from CeBit 2014. My SG05 build is ready for this!!

SilverStone SFX SX600-G 600W Power Supply Review
With many people looking for a smaller enthusiast computer system footprint, the size of a power supply gets very important. With SFF motherboards getting better for overclocking, many folks are looking for higher PSU powers for overclocking. SilverStone brings an SFX form factor 600 watt capable pint-sized PSU...
What they showed at CeBIT was a ST45SF-G with a mocked up sticker. So there's not even an engineering model of the SX600 available for a major trade show. You can see at Ecova website as well that there has not yet been a new SFX unit submitted for 80plus testing.
All this tells me that the new unit is still some months away from production.
Currently have Silverstone's ST45SF-G 450 watt 80 Plus Gold in my machine at the moment. Can't wait to pick one of these up so I can start overclocking!
I was thinking the opposite: by the time this PSU is released we'll see Nvidia 800 series (Maxwell) which only needs half the power of previous gen Kepler.

- Semi-fanless - this feature is taken from the current ST30SF model so that means the fan in the SX600-G will spin when its internal temperature reaches a certain point.
- PP05-E standard - this much more flexible and flat cable set will come standard with the SX600-G.
Unfortunately there are still some engineering issues to work out at this moment so I am unable to provide any more detailed information or time frame on its release. Sorry!

I think GPUs are going to stay at their current power levels for a long time to come. Why lower power when you can crank up power and crank up performance? 250 watts is generally a good limit to what can be cooled by a dual-slot cooler with tolerable noise levels.

maxwell wont even need this 600w , the good ol 450w would be more then adequate as it already has been. IMO the only people who would need this PSU would be the ones running dual GPU, 450w is good enough for everything else especially when maxwell halfs the power consumption so its all eyes on team red

lower power appeals to everyone except for those who with more money then sense. miners need lower power to make a profit, everyone else is stung by rising electricity costs. lower power is good especially when current games demand for 1080p @ ultra can easily be met with a low tier mid end card and its not like we are making massinve pushes beyond 1080p anyway.
1440p adopters are still a minority and still mid end cards can meet the performance requirements at a slight quality reduction. 4k is the only real push for higher performance but its rather cost prohibitive.
what i do want to see with maxwell is hopefully a dual GPU solution that is equivalent or better to dual titans at the power consumption of a single titan or around ~250w. just stuff more lower power chips onboard. single quad SLI card sounds interesting afterall its not like it cant be done afterall they have a quad keplar GPU called the K1 grid @ 130w

I can't wait for this, the only thing that always stopped me from going mini itx was because the cases I wanted all needed an SFX PSU. I felt the 450W SFX PSUs available didn't have enough headroom for a 780ti and a 3770k or higher when OCd . Now, once this comes out, i'll be a happy camper!

Nope, it's going towards greater performance at a given power point, and always has been. That is not the same thing as going low power, nor is it the same thing as low power emphasis only.
Very nice for Silverstone to include PP05-E as the stock cable. The stock cable of the 450w variant is bad enough even the non-modular 300/450w is better for cable management inside an SG05.
Also hoping for the stock PP05-E cables to be shorter.

Most SFX PSUs are made specifically for ITX cases that requires an SFX PSU anyways, might as well make the cables shorter than the usual. I doubt someone will install these SFX PSUs inside a mid tower case.
In my experience, the pp05 cables are still long inside an SG05 to the point it is still somewhat hard, or even harder to manage the cables. I guess thats just me.

Hopefully never. Those cheap looking, flat, ugly cables are a serious eye sore IMO.
Give me sleeved cables over those cost cutting cheap flat ones any day of the week. Although for SFF cases I guess I can see the need for them. But their still ugly as sin.
What exactly backs your opinion on this matter? Have you had bad luck with Silverstone PSU's as of late? I've had 3 of them and never ran into a single issue. Normally when you post something like this that brings no meaningful content to the thread you should really back up what you are saying. Just my

Holy reply 2 months later LOL! I came in here thinking maybe we had an update for release date.
