Should I change R7950 to GTX 760 for CUDA and Shadowplay?

Hello,

recently I started to put montages and gameplays on YouTube, but I'm not really happy with my video quality. Now I have Sapphire 7950 Dual-X. I have a few questions:

1. How much video quality improves, if I'd render using CUDA instead of OpenCL (in Sony Vegas)? By much or just a little?
2. How's Shadowplay recording quality. What I like about it, that recordings take so little space, no performance hit and 60 FPS. Now I record with Action! at 30 FPS and I'd be OK with it, but for momtages that's a not really enough.
3. By how much GTX 760 is weaker than R7950 (OC'ed to 1000/ 1350)?

Thank you for the help!

Stock for stock the 760 is the same or a little slower, but Overclocked the 7950 should be much better. So if anything you will take a loss with the 760. Also the quality of your videos depends on your compression settings not the cards you use to record.

HD 7950 @ 1 GHz = HD 7970 @ 925 MHz.. The GTX 760 will perform slightly slower than a vanilla 7970, faster than a 800 MHz 7950, an on-par with a 7950 Boost. GTX 760 and HD 7950 are overall close cards whether its stock or overclocked. Simply if you want the extra features get the GTX 760. From the videos I watched in youtube the video quality of shadowplay is no less than fraps recording quality. It would be better if kepler owners who record regularly give you extra information by replaying to the thread smile.gif .

Good Luck

I should have bought GTX 760 I guess. Well, I didn't know I was going to start editing. Maybe I'll be OK with 30 FPS.

This has been asked several times even here on OCN, the 7950 usually wins for OC performance and the 50% more memory.

Did you even try FRAPS? Game is unplayable for me, because of the massive FPS hit.
