Help with installing windows on a used HDD

Hi, my hard drive crashed and im using a used hdd to reformat and install windows on it. First, when I plugged it in, bios detected it, but windows install didn't. Then i restarted. Now bios didnt detect it and windows install didnt either. Then i restarted again, and same thing happened but now windows install is stuck at "Setup is starting..." Any one know what i should now?

Edit: as i was typing this, setup now started working but does not detect my drive. I did diskpart in the console and list disk didnt show it either. So i restarted and went into bios (Biostar BIOS) to see if the drive was detected, and it is. Bios randomly froze on me 0.o

System specs:
Cooler master 600 watt extreme power plus
Intel core i5 3570k
HDD: (new one im putting windows on - BIOS is detecting this drive as...) okay never mind, upon starting up, it didnt even take me to BIOS 0.o
Mobo TZ77A
Gpu gtx 680

Edit: upon restarting it detected my spare hdd drive i use for recording gameplay but not the new hdd

Edit again: going into the repair computer option, it seems to detect the new hard drive (i think). How i know this - under operating system, windows 7, and my recording drive dosnt have an os on it.

Tried taking all the other hdd's out, and still isnt detecting my new hdd. Could the problem be that there arent any drivers. Although its detecting my dvd drive...

Windows can't be installed to this drive because it is GPT partition style. Technology likes to troll me. Any work arounds?

use diskpart and change from GPT to MBR
