Which RAM!?

Hi All,

I am looking to put together an 1150 build, based around the MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming using a 4770K.

I will be using SLI 760's in this build, along with a CS750m gold rated PSU.

The only thing I am stuck on is choosing RAM. I have seen a lot of conflicting arguments surrounding lower CAS vs higher frequency. From my research I have seen that the ideal range is to have 2400 (cas10), or 2133 (cas9) - especially for multi-GPU set-ups. The only problem is that I can't seem to find any modules like this that are rated to run at 1.5v.

Would it really matter if I got some rated at 1.65v?

And what would you guys recommend as the best 8gb kit to get??

Many thanks! thumb.gif

1.65v doesn't matter compared to 1.5v, just a tink more power used. Won't hurt your cpu using 1.65v ram modules.

I recommend these sticks:

If that's a little high in price, then these:

Or the white version:

Thanks for the quick reply.

Yeah, I had my eye on the G.Skills. My budget is £100 ($165).

I was kind of wanting some Mushkin, but I can't seem to find any modules that match what I'm looking for.

Thanks, though, I reckon I'll go with the G.Skills - the red and black should go nicely with my mobo and graphics cards!
