gtx 780 reference vs evga classy

I was wondering if it's possible for a reference to overclock just as good as a classy or close

The only reason I'm asking is I plan on selling my r9 290 for one (linux drivers are awful....)

but the reference cooler looks so much better lmao (and cheaper! )

Normally it wouldn't O/C as good as a classy.. If it did, why would anyone pay the extra $$$ for the classy?

The classy is manufactured with a different design, a design tailoring to overclocking enthusiasts. Part of the design is using better quality components, IMO. A reference card could clock as high, but the temps and voltage will hold you back.
