I really do not know how TTL gets away with this honestly but here is the 760T pre-NDA. At least this time he says Corsair gave him the ok to do an exclusive first look.

I love early unboxings. Perhaps you should allow previews along with possible release dates?Originally Posted by CorsairGeorge

There's starting to be a blurry line between what constitutes a full review and what constitutes an unboxing/first look.
Right now that line seems to be "did you install hardware into it" but I have to be honest, I'm not sure what the community prefers.
Obviously it's no good to anyone to get reviews weeks and weeks before the product is available on shelves, which is why embargo dates usually exist. To keep reviews closer to retail availability - otherwise no matter how cool a product it is, all it does is anger you that you can't get the thing yet. Like if they announced a mind-controlled phone with a holographic display for $99, but it was not going to be available until 2025 or something. Cool tech, but what's the point?
What do you guys think: should we allow early unboxings before embargo dates? Or should we put a hard limit on the embargo dates for all first looks/unboxings/in-depth reviews so everyone's held to that same standard?

full tower.
I think it can't hurt to allow early previews. things get leaked early anyway, like that 450D slip on the website. as long as no official specs, price or release info are talked about in detail than it should satisfy Corsair and other interested parties right?Originally Posted by CorsairGeorge

Early unboxings and detailed reviews are best, so consumer can decide if the upcoming product is as per his requirements or not. If not, he can go ahead and buy from the existing line of available hardware instead of waiting months for a review and then decide.
I guess it depends on how far apart one thing from the other is. For instance, lets talk about the videogame industry (hardly related, I know): we get teasers, and announcements, announcements of announcements, downgrades and a lot of other stuff to create hype for the game. The gripe many users have (I know I do) is that the first teaser is so far apart from the final product that sometimes, the differences are so big you get hugely disappointed.Originally Posted by CorsairGeorge

If the the unboxing/review goes up weeks, 1 or 2 months before the product is available, I don't see any harm in that. It only gets your product showcased even sooner and there are more eyes on its capabilities. I remember seeing a few unboxings of the 250D went those went up and I was chomping at the bit for when full reviews would go up. It helps build up the hype to the eventual launch of the product. It gets people talking.Originally Posted by PureBlackFire
