I was skeptical about why a high end board is oem also that's why I thought fake

Im not sure, but I think without a cpu you can still get into the bios if you want to try that first to make sure its a legit bios and see the version too. Just make sure to disconnect the psu before putting the cpu in after.

doh.gif I dont think a board will display anything without a CPU?

Not unless I am unaware of some special feature asus has.

It will probably just beep if anything.

AFAIK Most ROG boards can boot with just a PSU

Hehe, Guess I will never know personally.

After watching the IV-Z's big bro trip on itself with my old 2500K, I dont think I will ever buy one of these boards.

They only seem to matter when under LN2/DICE and for benching multigpu setups. I can ask my buddy with a maximus V version of the Z and see if he can get anything onscreen with that.

man that board is missing a ton of stuff. the stop and go buttons the 2 leds to feed you error codes and lord knows what else.
It may be oem bulk but I would think it would still have the leds to give you error codes so you would be able to troubleshoot
it and tell the prebuild vendor what its saying.

Dont ROG boards still beep?

Have you ever used a board that didnt cost an arm and a leg? or maybe read a manual? maybe even some of this thread? doh.gif

It is still a complete board, but it is a feature-removed OEM version.

I beg you to try it, my friend bought one of these a week ago. Mostly need to know if it works, and still has the ROG BIOS, ect.
