I was getting it on my Nvidia card too, might be for both, though nvidias might not be frame time issues, hmm

Do any of you ever take it into account that the issue could be from the game itself? Is this the first time we are experiencing stuttering on a game that later get's fixed with multiple updates? Don't be quick to blame it on V-ram.

It's not only people with 2GB cards that are complaining...

FRAPS do not work with the 290s.

I'm sure the framerates are higher, but is the framerate smoother? That would tell you if the vram was an issue. Remember, a lot of games pre-cache game resources into vram if it's available. That doesn't necessarily mean the vram is actually being actively utilized though.

In a word, yes. If I let games max out the VRAM, I would get stuttering and lag issues. This, according to what I have read, is from the data being pushed to the system RAM. This causes a delay waiting for data to come over the PCIe bus. The higher the resolution and the more passes needed to render an image, the more frame buffer you need. Two basic things are stored in VRAM. Textures and location data for each pixel in 3D space. If this data overflows, it goes to system RAM over a much slower connection. Creating lag and stuttering.

Some ppl decide to "really" push their hardware...and have the freedom to do it...
Me jelly.
If I was to put a 3rd monitor on my desk, I would be beat down, skinned and tortured (the 2nd is in the bookshelf technically).
5? Would be nothing left.

I have a better chance with a single 4K or 21:9 1440p.

I saw that video earlier on a facebook group. 5400x1920 is still 10.3MP and i don't think he stated what settings he was running at, so if my 770 2gb can play at 5120x2160 (11MP). I expect a 290X x-fire to be able to handle 10.3MP without much stress.

I don't feel like spending 60 bucks on a new game when i am yet to complete some interesting old games i still have (work/school)... If anyone has a free key for me to test on my rig with a video gameplay, i'll gladly do it tongue.gif (Just kidding).... or maybe not biggrin.gif

I will have my new 1440p monitor delivered on Thursday and if I have time I will post some tests of my own coming from 1080p. I work so much that I might not be able to get to it though for a few days. I'm so excited!

Well it came in, so far I did a Thief benchmark, not too bad going to 1440p. The benchmark was with the same exact setting except for the resolution change

1080p

Stuttering isn't always a sign of low VRAM. I stutter alot on CS:GO on my GTX670 and I have absolutly no clue why, but it's certainly not a VRAM problem. Same goes for TITANFALL, I highly doubt that a game on the source engine could use more than 2GB of VRAM. Probably a problem with the game itself, just like my CS:GO.
