A10-6800 vs radeon 4650

Thread Starter
I'm rebuilding my grandparents computer with a new A10-6800k and a small SSD. Their existing computer has a Radeon 4650.

My question, should I even bother putting in the graphics card? I can't seem to find a comparison between the two. Currently the machine has 2gb of DDR3 1066. I'm thinking the ram would need to be upgraded if I chose not to put in the card.

My grandmother is a facebook game junkie that cannot resist clicking advertisements. I had to upgrade this computer because of the boot time and solitaire running "Slow" lol.

According to Passmark,

The HD 8670D, which is the graphics of the A10-6800K, has an average G3D mark of 795 while

the HD 4650 has an average G3D mark of 356. The A10-6800K graphics are more than twice as fast. Plus its DX11 versus DX10.

Yes, you should upgrade the memory to at least 4gb and 1866mhz. With the DDR3 1066, it still should be a bit faster than the 4650 because a lot of the 4650's used slower DDR2 ram.
