Bought it used from trademe.co.nz on 22nd dec last year, so a bit late. They're probably gonna say, either damaged in courier, I overclocked and fried it or that I've broken it somehow. rolleyes.gif I can see it happening now rolleyes.gif

Heh, I would have tested if I had a PSU to power the thing.. lesson learned. Gonna go have a crack at resoldering everything I see and see if that makes it magically work, it's junk anyway isn't it..?

You could try and cook it! that fixes common problems sometimes, I'm not sure how successful it will be with your 570 but I've done it myself on a failing 9800GT.

Ooooooo, will look into that. I just blasted it with a heat gun in hopes of letting some solder relax and get a better connection with no positive outcome. Waste of $200. mad.gif Stupid computers............. yet I'll be back trying to buy another bigger better one sometime soon after payday... why are we like this..

It's the risk of buying used older hardware.. You don't know where it's been. Usually buying on forums tells you that it at least has been treated decently.

I don't know if i mentioned this but I got a GTX470 for $30 AUD and it's fine; It's actually a good clocking card and when overclocked it can run current games decently at 1080p still.

@ Jason, couldn't get nvflash to start up, wouldn't let me start it in DOS mode, nor would it run within windows..

Would you happen to know how much shipping would be to NZ from AUS? If I managed to find a cheap card and bought it through gumtree or something and sent it to you and you send to me I think I could save a couple dollars. Ofcourse if I did end up saving a fair bit I'd send some your way too tongue.gif

I hope this makes your card work. Now I'm sending you two zip files. The first one contains the win98 boot files. Extract it to the desktop. Now, download- http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/HP-USB-Disk-Storage-Format-Tool-Download-123786.html Put the usb pendrve in, open HP Format Tool. Select your pendrive at the top and then under File System choose FAT32, now tick both as sgown in the picture below. Then Browse and select the Win98 folder that you had extracted to your desktop earlier. No extract the Nvflash zip file to the pendrive. Now copy the Gtx 570 bios file to your pendrive. Rename the bios file to something simple, like gtx570 cause later when you falsh the card you will have to enter the name of the bios. Now it should be stored as gtx570.rom Restart the computer and makes sure to keep the pendrive as the primary boot device in the bios. You need integrated graphics and make sure that in the bios the primary display is set to integrated graphics and not the Gtx 570. But when flashing the card the 570 must be in with all power connectors on. Now you will now be in DOS Mode. Enter the following command without quotations please.
"Nvflash -4 -5 -6 gtx570.rom" Now hit Enter. It will now ask you to press "Y" to confirm. Do as follows and then restart. All done and working Gtx 570 thumb.gif

Win98.zip 672k .zip file

nvflash.zip 416k .zip file
