No it means you have 16 amps on one rail and 12 on the other, it doesn't combine unless you work for HP's marketing team. The good PSU's have one single rail but it looks like HP wanted to be cheap. 16A is not that great and I'm questioning weather that PSU may catch fire if you put a 750 in. Anyway here's the page that has the BIOs. It was last updated in 2012 and 750-750ti came out this year. Not sure if it will do any good.

ok so i think im going to get the 750 ti with like a CX500m or something. so now i need to decide which 750 ti im going to get. the highest core and boost speed is http://www3.pny.com/GTX-750-Ti-2048MB-OC-PCIe-P3483C589.aspx the 2nd highest core and boost speed is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487028 and the 3rd highest is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487024

so which one of those should i get? the pny and evga SC both have 1 fan and the evga ftw has 2 fans, so despite having a slightly lower speed than the PNY, is the evga ftw better because it has 2 fans? also, what are the cons of having more than 1 fan on a graphics card besides it being bigger which doesnt mean anything to me?

If you dont mind the noise of the fan speeds of the first one get it... if you do mind get the 2nd one, they are pretty much the same in performance

so 2 fans = less noise? my gt 520 only has one fan and my computer makes no sound at all

When you are playing something intensive a single fan will have to spin faster to dissipate the heat the GPU generates. Faster spinning = more noise. With 2 fans they can spin slower and dissipate the same amount of heat, thus, less noise. Its really up to you which one to get, personally I like to get the cheapest version of a component I can find but that's bit me in the ass a fair few times. biggrin.gif. (Its probobly why I have 800 bucks worth of components in a 30 dollar case) I would go for the EVGA FTW. EVGA makes some good stuff and I think they have a quite good return policy should something go sideways with your card. (Like it not work)

Hmm you may run into the same issue, its hard to know. It seems like that guy didn't uninstall the old video drivers before he popped the new card in. Im not sure how much difference the new video drivers will make if he had installed them beforehand but I find it odd that the computer wouldn't even boot with the 750 in. The general rule is that if it fits it SHOULD work. I suppose you can try the 750 out and if it doesnt work return it and you can pick up a slightly older card like the AMD 7750. (That doesn't use a 6pin power connector) Or even a 550ti like that guy got. It's up to you which route to take.

when u say uninstall all the drivers, all i do is uninstall everything by nvidia in control panel: nvidia 3d vision driver, nvidia graphics driver, nvidia 3d vision controller driver, nvidia physx system software, nvidia hd audio driver and then turn off the computer and unplug everything to get started?
Yes. Actually if you download and try to install the latest nvidia driver it may give you an option to uninstall the old one first.
