HDD troubleshooting

I need a little help with troubleshooting a HDD

So earlier my HDD just disappeared from my computer's drive list. It's not my primary drive and nothing important in it, but I want to "save" it if possible instead of buying a new one. And I don't remember everything in it for me to put everything back.

I already did the following:

1. Checked the cables (Everything is on)
2. Swapped to a different Sata port (basically I just removed my CD sata port and plugged it in.
3. Updated my Marvell driver (Got it from Asus direct for my mobo version)

Noticed the following:
1. It's not showing in disk manager
2. The drive does not show up in my BIOS (Probably because it's from the Marvell controller, I'm not sure since this is the only drive connected to it. The other marvell port is empty)
3. When I swapped it to an Intel port, it shows up in my BIOS as a 4gb seagate disk... it's suppose to be a 2TB seagate disk. Model number is correct though
4. When it's on an Intel port, it also shows up in disk manager as a 4gb uninitialized drive.
5. Downloaded SeaTools, it works without the drive installed or when the drive is missing. But it's throwing up an error when the drive is showing up as a 4gb drive in disk manager. I still have 2 seagate drives in this PC other than this 2tb drive so it's not because it can't see any seagate drives. The error is "Argument 'Length' must be greater or equal to zero. System.String Mid(System.String, Int32, Int32)"

So any other ideas I can try? Even if it's just getting the directory tree to piece it back together I can take it from there.

For now I have removed the drive from the PC. I'm planning to plug it into an HDD enclosure to see if it works from there but I don't have 1 available at the moment. I'll RMA it since it's just a year or so old, but I wanted to get the directory tree atleast before that.

Try plugging it into a native SATA port (Intel) and try using a boot from disk Linux distro just to make sure it isn't Windows causing issues.

If the drive is only showing up as 4GB in the BIOS though...man...sounds like the hard drive has completely crapped out. I mean, Windows can cause issues but the BIOS is before Windows could affect anything so to me, personally, it sounds like it's time to put your hard drive to rest.

I was thinking it might just be a corrupted logical sector and maybe some software out there can fix that but so far no luck.

sigh... This was the newest drive in my rig and the first one to go...Ah well, just realized it was made in China while my other drive is made in Thailand. Time to buy a new one and get this RMA'd come monday.

Thanks.
