[IW]John McAfee’s New Cognizant App Puts an End to Spying - Page 2

I'm aware of a couple applications that do this sort of thing so it'll be interesting to see how this differs.

John McAfee has had absolutely nothing to do with the McAfee branded software for a very long time. McAfee anti-virus WAS the latest and great must have piece of ground-breaking security software at one point, though as it currently stands it's pretty well known to be crap that often comes pre-installed or bundled with software installers. John also once mentioned that the McAfee software was making more money from shady government payouts that what was actually being made from selling the software itself, an interesting thought.

Being endorsed by infowars really hurts any validity or trust in this program. Using the right plugins and configuring firefox properly is all that I need.

On your cell phone? That's what this video is about.

I personally have uninstalled some very well known apps for just this reason. If you don't need access to my contacts and/or email, you're not getting it. He's very right about some of the outrageous permissions being granted on phone apps, and seemingly nobody reads/pays attention to the disparity there.

How does being endorsed by InfoWars make it invalid or untrustworthy? Just saying it doesn't make it so. So if CNN or MSNBC has commericals for it, that would make it more "valid" to you? rolleyes.gif

This has nothing to do with configuring your PC, you obviously didn't even watch the video.

I'll definitely check it out when it's released in a few days, no need to hate till I've checked it out firsthand.

I'll definitely download this to check and ensure that all the APPS I have are good! I don't understand why people would find a man who doesn't want someone snooping around his personal life odd. I for one want no one knowing anything about anything personal about me, isn't that something called privacy? rolleyes.gif

i pretty much know everything we use is being spied upon. this much of my personal life i don't care about. everything worth a dime is always closely guarded and face to face only- electronic free. that's how you truly protect yourself.

pretty much. all you can do is understand what the obvious risks are (cameras and mic's everywhere in your home, browsing information tracking, unsecure email, unsecure text, phones without cover sleeves) and try make some small steps to give yourself peace of mind back. The rest of the dumb populace who dont care or dont understand are unfortunately unfair game and in some senses will be living in a technological 'lower class' than those that do understand.

btw im not talking purely about the SS, im talking about the companies that take your information and re-selling it on or exploiting.
