I personally have uninstalled some very well known apps for just this reason. If you don't need access to my contacts and/or email, you're not getting it. He's very right about some of the outrageous permissions being granted on phone apps, and seemingly nobody reads/pays attention to the disparity there.

This has nothing to do with configuring your PC, you obviously didn't even watch the video.

I don't own a smart phone, only a blackberry for work. Like you, I do have an android tablet that I have rooted and removed all known apps that share information. I also have super user installed so I can control permissions of the apps that I have installed.

So it does what the native App Ops on KitKat did? Although it was taken away, you can still get it by flashing roms like CM or using Xposed. But I guess with the current lack of App Ops on vanilla KitKat, this should be warmly welcomed, but InfoWars, HA!

It is easy for corrupt government/s and powerful organisations to discredit a single person, and it is a tactic used all so often. You have to sit back and work out for yourself why they would there are governments and people out there trying to discredit McAfee.

We have all heard what the NSA, and most likely other Governments around the world, are doing with surveillance, and we've all read the McAfee's story of what happened in Belize, so his paranoia is actually warranted imo.

If he has made an APP that can do exactly what he claims, then I'm all for it, and I am sure there are many like me who will be for it as well.

Doesn't it make more sense to use an app made by someone as super paranoid as McAfee, who thinks everyone is out to get him? An APP that is designed to tell you exactly what APPs on your smartphone are using your phones camera and mic, without you knowing, and reading your emails and other data on your phone - or would you prefer to just accept you are being surveilled and you just cannot be bothered even trying to protect your privacy and your rights?

As far as Mcafee? He's definately an odd one. Go look up his video with him, guns, chicks and snorting coke. I started a thread and posted a link to it a few months back and got an infraction, so won't do that again. He's definately strange; but that's no reason to count someone out.

It's interesting how often madness and genius go together no? Like you say, we'll have to wait and see.

Anyways, didn't know Mcafee's done some crazy stuff like that. Though really, maybe that was all so he could learn more? Sometimes you have to get dirty to find the truth, not saying it's what he did. Just saying it happens, and if what he says is true he's found some crazy truth.

Fox News & fantasy world don't go together. I'd say more like MSNBC. Regardless, everyone is out to get you. It's hard to find the select few that aren't.
