decent upgrade for video editing

hi guys im using a x945 and a old am3 motherboard and im just wondering would a i7 2600 and Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H i edit video with sony vegas and i do gaming and im just wondering if thats a good upgrade

A Phenom II X6 would be a fine upgrade for less money.

Otherwise, a used 2600+mobo would be fine for the money. Personally I'd get a 2500k with a nicer motherboard, but either would work fine.

well i dont plan in oc the cpu
