GTX 760 issue..plz help.

Thread Starter
A friend of mine bought a GTX 760 Super Clocked GPU to replace his HD7750.
After installing the GTX 760 his pc will not boot past post screen, just hangs there. I used drive sweeper/Display Driver Uninstaller in safe mode to remove previous AMD drivers.
We can not get it to work.
Is it compatible?
What are his options?

His pc specs are:
ASUS M5A88-M
FX-4100
8Gb ram
Crucial M4 256Gb ssd
Antec High Current Gamer Series 750W
Windows 7 64bit

Try putting it in the second slot and make sure all power connectors are 100% secure and connected. Worst case scenario is that he'll have to get the card RMA'd if no solution can be found at some point down the line.

Never thought of the second slot, we'll try that tomorrow as I just got home from his place.

Can you verify that the gpu is working properly in a different PC. Maybe a faulty gpu? Where did he buy it from, was it new, used or refurb.

Bought it local, taking it back tomorrow. GTX wouldn't let my rig boot either. He wants to go with an AMD gpu now, just gotta search Newegg for compatible model.

I suggested the 270X but he bought the GTX because "it was there". Going to order it off Newegg tomorrow. Not sure which one though, Sapphire has never let me down so might go with that one.
