The AMD is not overclocked and it plays fine on high/ultra settings. There are a few FPS drops in some areas of the cities and newer areas but it's all still playable. I did try clocking it a little to 4.4GHz but did not notice much of a difference. Some settings in the game really put a bit of strain on the CPU. One of these is view distance however, I'm sure there's others to. Before buying a new CPU it might be worth messing about with some settings putting them down one notch smile.gif

The 3570K offers a much more smoother experience and gets less frame drops than the AMD. It's certainly better in MMO games though the only time it's noticeable is in heavy areas like cities. I never really raid, but both CPUs cope fine in battlegrounds.

I have tried most of the settings out from good to high to ultra and it usually has huge dips in citys and areas that are populated with npcs/mobs/players. The misses i5 4670k has no real issues with the drops thou

If you spent less time looking at a frame rate counter and more time just playing you likely would have a hard time noticing the dips. My daughter is playing WoW on an A10 5800K at stock with a 6950 for video, all at 1080 and high, she has never seen any "dip" during her game play. But then again she could care less about frame rates, she actually plays the game.

shocking news, people who don't mind bad performance are not bothered by bad performance

Not that i expect random questing in WoW to run too badly on anything~

Games shouldn't stutter and they should have relatively smooth playback regardless of framerate.

I thought people around here preferred 120fps to 20fps?
