[Guru3d] Intel Haswell-E X99 Chipset Details And Launch Time - Page 4

Sorry I was in rush not had time to read
So it's glad to know its PCIE 3
I thaught it's only PCIE 2

it'll be pcie2.0 through the chipset and pcie3.0 directly through the cpu.
What this mean I'm not sure?
If you guys don't mind I'm here to gain knowledge:)

You dont need pcie3.0 through the chipset. Already 3930k support 4 gpus at x8

Basically traffic from pcie3.0 lanes goes directly to the cpu (I assume lower latency for things like gpus)

pcie2.0 lanes make a stop at the chipset first (I assume higher latency but used for peripherals where latency isn't as much of an issue)

How will you know which PCIE is connected directly to CPU?

Wait wait wait wait....

SO they're saying DDR3 and DDR4 are supported by saying 284 and 288 pin DIMMs are supported? Or are they saying DDR4 will have 284 and 288 pin varients?

Never mind.

Man... if only I wasn't trying to pay for college. An intel 8 core with quad-channel DDR4 will cost more than an arm and a leg for early adopters. I want it so bad but i wont even let myself look at the prices when it launches...

By reading the motherboard specs/manual. It should state which slot is which (either 3.0 or 2.0).

So, where exactly were people getting that this would have DDR3 support?

Me....my bad.
I just got very excited with the idea of two different pin modules working on the same chipset.
Somehow my mind blocked the number 240 when thinking of DDR3.
