Looking to shrink my build

Thread Starter
Right now I have a fairly decent watercooled mid sized system in an Arc Midi R2 which I would like to convert to M-ITX. Hopefully I can salvage many of my current parts.
I'd obviously need at least a new motherboard and case, is it worth trying to find a M-ITX Z77 motherboard for my i5-3570k or should I just go straight to z87 and a new processor?
Also I have a very nice silverstone 850W gold PSU which I customized sleeved that I would like to use however it is 180mm long so I realize this severally limits my case choices. Lastly I'd like to be able to keep most of my watercooling gear (a single 240mm rad setup) but understand this may not be possible.
So my questions are:
A.) Should I stick with Z77?
B.) Are there any cases that can accomplish my needs? I believe the 250d might.

Thank you!

what is your target size? there are quite a LARGE size variation within the ITX chassis offerings atm. you can go as big as the prodigy or as small as the SG05. so a better idea behind the motivations for the shrink may be the key piece of information that's lacking.

The 250d is about as big as a matx case in a way.though huge its a good case. If your CPU is fine then grab a itx z77 which should be cheap. The cooler master cases will also hold your psu

I'd like to go as small as possible - but still using my ATX PSU.
The CPU is fine so I guess I'll shop around for some M-ITX Z77 boards.

As small as possible while keeping your atx psu? Sg08-lite.

SG08 won't work,it only takes 160mm psu absolute max,140mm non modular for comfort.
You can get the Elite 130 and have the PSU stick out the back.

Or Node304. It has some room to play with PSU placement.
