It Finally Happened

Thread Starter
As of 30 minutes ago my trusty ole HD 6750 finally gave up from heat exhaustion and crashed. I was having issues with the card a few weeks back and got an RMA number from XFX but after applying new thermal paste the card was acting fine.

Now I know the card is old but im gonna send it off anyway to either be fixed or replaced and use it in my aunts computer so she can connect her TV to it.

My real question is what card should I get now. Price is a very big issue and I really want to keep it under $175 so I can replace it next week.

I have no preference about which team, just the best bang for my buck right now. I have been looking into the EVGA GTX 750 Ti as a viable option of replacement. I play many games from The stick of Truth to FarCry 3, Hitman Absoultion, etc but its all being done at 1080p and will continue that way for a while.

So what in your opnion is the best choice for me given the $175 cap?

What are you going to use it for ,just games?

R9 270 is a faster card for ~$179 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127769

GTX 660 is a faster card for ~$170 ($30 rebate) than GTX 750 Ti. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127756
^ I'd get the r9 270 over this any day : no rebate

R7 265 is overpriced at the retailers, it's supposed to be $150 MSRP.

GTX 750 TI is a solid choice except for the price... EVGA has minimum fan speed issue on their GTX 750 Ti (FTW and SC) so I would avoid them and go for Gigabyte/MSI/ASUS (if you need G-sync you are going to need Displayport)

The cheapest GTX 750 TI is likely this $150 EVGA

or this $160 ASUS
