AC-5 is a pretty decent thermal paste, and so is PK-3. It also depends if you've mounted the heatsink tight enough, a little loose and you'll be gaining temps.

AS5 is old. Go for MX-4 if you want something from Arctic. It has no curing time and they promise it will stay with good temperatures for years (no idea if that's just marketing talk).

The pre-applied paste should be better, but the way it's pre-applied might make it worse than doing it yourself with the usual method where you put a tiny drop in the middle and practice a little to learn how to get the picture it makes look perfect.

PK3 is quite good, better than AS5 I believe. So is Arctic MX-4.

Coollaboratory liquid ultra is the best by alot. Though it's a little weird to apply, it isn't sensitive to contact/mounting pressure at all.

EDIT: This is a decent comparison. A bit old, but as you can see, Arctic Silver 5 isn't very good at all.

i got myself arctic mx 4 and i also got corsair h100i smile.gif i highly recommend this compound. got my i5-4670k oced at 4.5 ghz at stress test it dosent exceed 77 degrees while on stock compound from corsair i couldnt even stress test on 4,2 lol smile.gif Apply a decent amount then carefully spread it all over his do not "jew out" on it, ive already used mine compound like 7 times and used only 1/4th of it smile.gif

edit:

Im connecting to Op's thread with little question about mx4.

Is mx4 good choice for deliding or should i get something expensiver?

If you're getting CLU for the die, I don't see why you'd use any other TIM for the heatsink/heatspreader. Lots of people do, but why use PK-3 or MX-4 on the heatsink when you already have CLU headscratch.gif

If you're using MX-4 alone, I don't know. CLU would obviously get you better temps, but I'm not sure how well MX-4 would work.
