To all GTX titan users

I have a couple question out of curiosity.

obviously, the titan is probably the worst GPU you can get when looking at price / performance, with many other options a better choice.

so my question is

1) How did you get your titan? (did you buy it new, retail price? huge discount? used titan?)
2) why did you decide to go for the titan? (did you start off looking to purchase a titan? or it just "happened"?
3) why the titan over other GPU ?

i realize these 3 questions are pretty similar to each other.

but i am really curious. I even see people posting on the buying section that they are looking to buy a titan.
I always wondered why is it worth getting a titan for $1000 when the performance isnt that great if u factor in the price?

NOTE: this is NOT a hate thread on the titan, but more of a "discussion" on why the titan is worth getting and why / how some people got the titan.

cuz i remember, when i first didnt know anything about PC hardware, and i saw the titan for $1000, i thought, "OH WOW this gpu must blow every other gpu out of the world." and i was dazzled (i guess due to the price) and i wanted one tongue.gif

Correct me if I'm wrong but it's a cross between workstation and gaming card. Kinda like a cheap workstation card. Plus some people buy it just because it's the latest and they can afford it. Simply put, Bragging rights

All this being said, I don't actually own one or anything,

I just sold my Titan last week, but I had it since release. Had Titan SLI for awhole too.

1. Bought it new
2. Went for the Titans because I have a NV surround display. Also have a 2560x1600 monitor. I wanted to be able to play at the res with max settings. The 6GB of VRAM was nice comfort.
3. At the time it was the best card out, unique cooler, and had 6GB of VRAM.

It is also a really good deal for those who do compute work.

1- Bought a Titan new from a retailer.

2- Titan at the time (purchased march 2013) was the faster single gpu, and I wanted it for benches.

3- same as 2.
