Thanks a lot for all your help today. This is the first time in forever that I've felt so down over a cosmetic item. I went to sleep torn up, and I woke up hopeless. I think this calls for me to start customizing my mech KB and start being as awesome as many of the KB owners in here. Thanks a lot for your assistance. Any videos or tutorials I can follow to try "pimp" 'my KB in a great way without messing it up even more?

eh, I don't really know of any videos, but tons of custom info can be found in OCN's offical Mechanical Keyboard Club.biggrin.gif

Everyone is welcome and tons of info and we are open to any questions.

If you have decided that you want to try to fix it yourself, the first thing you'll want to do is try to connect a cable and see what happens.
Then carefully take the keyboard apart ( should be 3 screws, one center, and one under each foot, and use a thin butter knife to pop the top case off.

take a picture of the usb connection and we'll tell you what you need to do to hard wire the keyboard. ( basically just cut and join 4 wires, super easy ) and then glue the bottom case back together and reassemble.

once you get it going then we can work on modding it and making it yours.

Yeah and to hard wire it just cut the end of the USB cord it came with and there are 4 wires that you need to splice and solder to the matching colored 4 wires that are on the pcb and Tada. Fixed.

Or position the cable so it works then hot glue it into place.

I'll be working on it during the weekend. I had to pull out my old Logitech KB, but I have long shifts to tend to. I will post pics of the progress if anybody is interested!
