Best $150 GPU?

Thread Starter
I need a cheap and short GPU (9 inches or less) for a custom build.

I have the EVGA GTX 750 SC in mind.

Are there any better options? Thanks in advance.

The r7 265 outperforms the 750ti for the same price, but you have to catch it in stock.

I built a rig last week with a R7 260x and it was about $130 USD...seems to be pretty powerful and should handle anything at 1080p for a while yet I think. The person is playing Titanfall on the machine and they haven't complained.

The 660 isn't a long card at all.
I would take the 660 over the 260x as well. You can find them used with warranty for the $150 range in the marketplace here fairly easy.

Performance wise, it is still a solid card for 1080p gaming.

I guess I haven't seen a 660 that was under 9 inches...I think 9.5 inches was reference. If you are going that big you could just as well go up to a 11 because you are going to need a bigger case or a well designed one that gives you space to plug in the power cables.

I just looked at the specs of the 260x I ordered last week and it is 6.97 inches (LOL...why not just say seven)

Though if I'd the space for it I'd take a 660 over a 260x as well...though the 260x was only $120 brand new. It was my first time using it...I think I will be using it again. Seems like a little work horse. Though only if I am cutting corners and there is no budget room for a 750ti...the MSI one that is barely longer than the PCI port...the EVGA one is a 9.5 inch pcb. I am not sure if there is even a "reference" pcb for the 750 series.

Wow, that is short!
I will have to measure my 660 when I get home. I really didn't think it was that long. Thought it was shorter than the reference 560ti it replaced at one point in time.
It is the FTW Sig2 version though.

Just looked it up on Newegg. You are right. Wow, I didn't think it was that long.
Hmmm, guess you are stuck with something less.

My apologies for the misguidance.

Thanks for correcting me Vagrant!
